Autochronicle Learns to Talk Back

April 2026
It's been a while. We owe you an update — and this one's a big deal, so let's get into it.
You know Autochronicle as the system that watches what you do and turns it into history — season summaries, character profiles, heirloom quests, the poetry, all of it. It takes your actions and makes them matter. That hasn't changed. But we've been quietly building something on top of it that changes everything.
Autochronicle can now run quests in real time.
Instead of only looking back at what happened and writing the story after, it can now act as a dungeon master while you play. It knows your character, your House's history, your fame, and the state of the world — and it uses all of that to craft a personal quest chapter for you, live, in the moment.
We're calling each one a chapter. Every time you play, you get one. Not a random fetch quest. Not a generic objective. A chapter — a piece of your character's unfolding story, shaped by everything that came before it. When it sends you somewhere, it has a reason. When an NPC speaks to you, they're pushing your narrative forward.
Why We Went Quiet
Because this was really, really hard to build.
Teaching an AI to generate retrospective lore is one thing. Teaching it to think on its feet — to plan a quest that's structurally sound, narratively personal, and actually playable in a live game world — is a completely different beast. We went through months of testing, breaking things, fixing things, and breaking them differently. There were weeks where we weren't sure it was possible at the quality bar we wanted.
But it works now. And when it works, it's magic. The world feels like it has a dungeon master behind it who actually knows your story.
One Chapter, One Session
Here's the design philosophy behind it: each session gives you one chapter. You play, your story moves forward, and then the world keeps turning until you come back. There's a cooldown between chapters — and that's intentional. Unyha isn't a game you grind for hours. It's a game that lives alongside your life, and each time you return, your next chapter is waiting.
Your fame level feeds into this too. The more legendary you become, the harder and more rewarding your chapters get. The world rises to meet your reputation.
What's Next
We're deep in testing and refinement. Every playthrough teaches us something new — an edge case, a narrative beat that could land harder, a moment where the AI needs one more nudge to get it right. We're also building the infrastructure to connect all the moving parts more smoothly behind the scenes.
More updates coming soon. For real this time.
